The Bonsai Shoes Show Lotus growing pot is modeled after a pot shape from one of the major Japanese bonsai shows. They are not clay, but they are a fraction of the price.

Air-pruning mesh bottom. The raised mesh bottom maximizes drainage and root growth: water and oxygen flow freely while the walls help keep the soil from drying too fast, and roots air-prune into a finer root system.

• Sizes: the size number is the pot's largest outside dimension in inches (a Size 8 is 8″ wide)

Three ways to use it: on a solid surface (roots grow through the mesh for extra vigor — trim them at least once a year so they don't clog the mesh); on a mesh or grated surface (full air pruning — the ideal fine root system); or on soil or substrate (maximum growth while keeping a root ball in a small pot).
