The Bonsai Edge scissors are made in Taiwan. They feature heavy duty high carbon steel blades that cut. When I say they cut, I mean they cut through nearly everything and keep on cutting. These are my go-to all-purpose shears when working on trees. I cut aluminum wire, branches, roots, medium to small gauge copper wire, nursery pots and pretty much everything else. The tips are good for pruning while the back of the blades are ideal for branches up to 1/2" thick and wire (avoid heavy copper).
High Carbon Steel maintains a sharper edge for longer, is harder and is easier to sharpen than stainless steel bonsai scissors. The trade off is that it can rust if left wet or in very humid environments. Occasional oiling of the metal will help keep it happy for years to come.
Each pair of scissors from The Bonsai Edge is adorned with a laser etched BE logo. The handles feel comfortable and are made from a semi flexible PVC that conforms a bit to your hand while using.
